General
* No Flaming
Flaming is considered anything that is said or done to insult another member. All members are to be treated fairly. If you don’t have anything nice to say, don't say it at all. If there is a serious issue that needs to be addressed, please talk to a moderator. If you are caught flaming, then you will get an immediate warning. If the behavior continues, you will be banned.
* No Discrimination
This is similar to flaming, but is not aimed at a particular person or social group, but towards an entire race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, etc. Discrimination is a serious offense and will lead you a warning, or possible banning if it persists. Please inform a Mod or Admin if you notice flaming or discrimination taking place.
* No Illegal Discussions/Downloads
No links to illegal downloads or copyrighted materials are permitted. This includes, movies, books, software,etc. Do not attempt to sell these products or post links to where this can be done. This will result in a ban.
* No Plagiarism
Do not steal other people's works and post them on this forum as your own. If you find something cool, that you'd like to share, please provide a link to that site. If you are using information form another site, you must credit them in the post. Stealing a work and calling it your own will not be tolerated.
* All Private Conversations are to be Kept Private
Anyone posting conversations that were done via PM or IM will be warned. These conversations are private for a reason.
* Be Honest About Your Identity
While we don't prohibit having more than one account, we ask that you stick to a single persona in the Forums. The deceptive use of multiple accounts, especially in a single thread, is prohibited. The use of secondary accounts to circumvent a Forum ban is also prohibited.
* Please Use Proper English (to the best of your abilities)
DON'T USE ALL UPPERCASE FOR YOUR TITLES OR IN THE BODY OF YOUR POST. It comes across as shouting. Also avoid txt msg abbreviations.
* Please Avoid Long or Cluttered Signatures
If people are role playing or trying to read content, huge signatures can be distracting. If you want to link to your site, please keep it at one link. Keep your quotes at three lines max, and try to avoid ideologically sensitive material. Please do not post pictures in your signature.
* Please Try to Keep Content Rated 'Teen' or Under
We don't want particularly strong language or sexual content on this forum. If we get enough requests for it, we may create a restricted "Mature" section where such content is allowed, but outside of that please respect the fact that some members may be under the age of 16 and/or may be offended by such conduct.
Role Play
* Research
While I understand minor inconsistencies with Lore, or the occasional Headcanon or AU, please try to research what you're writing about before posting, especially if RPing with a group who is trying to remain lore-friendly. The UESP is an excellent resource for all things TES lore.
* Posting OOC
Please avoid posting OOC inside an RP thread. If you would like to post something OOC about your current RP, you can create or post in a thread in OOC RP Discussions. This is also where you will want to post RP ideas, recruit role players, and post character sheets.
* Respect Original Poster's Style
If the OP wrote in a particular style and would prefer the whole RP to remain in that style (Third Person, Past Tense, for instance) then please try to emulate that. It can make a thread much more pleasing to read.
* Respect Poster's Characters
Everyone has a personal preference. Do not flame someone for playing a race or class you do not like, and do not 'hate on' that particular race or class; it's fine if you don't like it, but they do, so try to respect that. You may, however, play a character who is racist (within reason; do not create a character specifically to be disruptive). If you see someone playing a Mary Sue, or otherwise flat or irritating character, please try to gently encourage them to do better via PM. Constructive criticism can go a long way, but don't flame or disrespect them.
* General Tips
I found a website here with decent RP advice. If anyone has a better site to recommend, please PM me and I will replace the link or add the new one.
Have fun!!
Cut loose. Relax. Enjoy yourselves! Nirn is such a huge world, full of history and lore. Write in any timeline, any place, any race; make up any story that could fit the world. Fill any gaps you see with ideas you think work.
